Common questions
Quick answers to common questions and issues.
Are tasks insured or covered by Spot On Task?
Spot On Task does not provide or arrange insurance cover for Workers, Posters or tasks. A task is not insured simply because it is posted, assigned or paid through the platform.
Workers are responsible for arranging any cover required for their services. Posters should consider their own insurance needs and verify a Worker's cover where relevant.
Keeping payments on the platform records the transaction but does not create an insurance policy or guarantee reimbursement. Read the Insurance page for more information.
How do I contact support?
You can reach us via in-app support or by contacting our support team directly. For urgent safety matters, follow local emergency services first.
What if an incident or damage occurs?
Report the incident as soon as possible through the platform. Provide clear details and photos if available. Our support team will explain the next steps and any documentation required.
What if there is a dispute with a customer?
If a disagreement arises, contact support through the app with the task ID and details. We’ll review the information and guide both parties through the resolution process.
What if a task is cancelled?
If a task is cancelled, refunds or payments are handled according to the platform’s cancellation policy. The outcome depends on when the cancellation occurs and whether work has already started.
What fees do Posters and Workers pay?
Workers may pay a service fee deducted from the fixed-total offer. Before submitting or updating an offer, review Offer amount, Service fee and You'll receive.
Posters fund the task budget when posting. Budget changes and cancellations can affect the amount paid or returned; review the checkout or cancellation breakdown before confirming.
Bank payout fees may apply to cash-outs. Fee rates and eligibility can change, so use the amounts shown for your current offer, checkout or payout rather than assuming a fixed rate.
How do I withdraw or cash out my earnings?
After the Poster releases payment for completed work, your net earnings are added to your available Spot On Task balance.
Open Account -> Payment methods -> Receive payments and complete the payout setup shown for your account. Add your billing address and enable two-factor authentication before cashing out.
Your available balance must be more than $10 to request a cash-out. Enter the code in the secure cash-out form, never in chat. Check Cash out history for the request status. Bank payout is separate from task payment release.
Poster referral task credits cannot be withdrawn as cash. Worker referral bonuses must meet their separate eligibility and availability requirements before contributing to a cash-out.
When is my card charged: posting a task or accepting an offer?
Your card-funded task budget is charged when you post the task, and the payment is held for the task. Accepting an offer does not charge that offer amount a second time.
If an offer exceeds the funded budget, increase the budget and fund the difference before accepting it. Review any additional charge shown when changing the budget.
The Poster releases payment after checking completed work. Release credits the Worker's platform balance; bank payout is a separate cash-out step.
If I cancel, do I get a card refund or task credit?
Cancellation does not automatically refund the original card. The eligible refundable card-funded amount is generally added to your Spot On Task balance. Referral task credits used for the task are restored separately and cannot be withdrawn as cash.
Fees depend on the task's assignment and payment status. Review the cancellation preview for the fee and returned amount before confirming.
A completed task or released payment cannot be cancelled through the normal task flow. For a dispute or payment requiring review, contact support. Do not arrange an off-platform refund.
Do Workers need an ABN, identity verification or a licence?
Workers can join from supported countries worldwide. Open Account -> Verify account, select your Worker country and complete the identity and tax verification requirements shown for your account.

- Australian tax verification uses an Australian Business Number (ABN). Do not enter a Tax File Number (TFN).
- For other tax countries, follow the tax ID and supporting tax document instructions in your account. Documents may require manual review.
- Regulated work may require a current trade licence, qualification or other credential. Only offer work you are legally entitled and qualified to perform.
- Submit documents through the official verification screens, never through chat.
Can I become a Worker outside Australia?
Yes. Workers can join from supported countries worldwide and offer local or remote services that match their skills.

- Local tasks require you to be able to attend the agreed location. Remote tasks can be completed online where the task allows it.
- Open Account -> Verify account and select your Worker country to check current onboarding availability. Complete the identity, tax and payout requirements shown for your account.
- Availability depends on country eligibility and supported payout options. If your country is waitlisted or unavailable, follow the instructions shown in your account.

An Australian ABN is used for Australian tax verification; it is not a worldwide verification requirement.
